Temp light won't go out on gauge

Ok so I took my 2 skis out today both 96's one is a gtx I just did a top end on which is frustrating in ng the crap out of me but that is another post for another time. My gsx is my hopefully quicker fix problem child. Today was the first time in a pretty long time the skis have been out. We get the skis out to the ramp and once the gsx is in the water there is a fuel low message and the light as well on the info center. It has a full tank so I am guessing the float is probably bad but that is not my concern. The big issue is the temp was on. According to my wife and son the light was not on when they were riding but when I got on and cranked it the temp light would not go out the buzzer did not sound which I just recently replaced so I don't think it's actually overheating. As a matter of fact if I disconnect the wire from the temp sensor the light still stay on. I am looking at the wiring schematics and looks like it traces from the the sensor to the tach and to the mpeg and branches out to the buzzer and tach. Anyone have any ideas where I should even start with this.

So I did a little checking after I got home and the buzzer will sound if I ground the temp wire out. The light is now out now that I am home so I may need to take it back out to the lake. Can anyone tell me if the light will come on before the buzzer sounds or if the light has multiple functions?
