I was at the shop today talking to the tech about my 10 hr check up on my new GTX 215's . I asked about after my 10 hr burn in if I could switch it over to synthetic. This question started a debate behind the counter, one tech said no, and the other tech said yes the 2008 has the new metal washer in the supercharger.

Here is my question, can I get an opinion as to why it's not a good idea to change over to synthetic ?

Also is it OK to start my machine up out of water for like 4 seconds to blow all the water out ? The book says no, but I keep thinking about that lake water just sitting there. Will it cause a issue with the super charger to start it for a sec out of the water ?

Amsoil synthetic marine oil is ok to use. These motor were designed to run syn oil but with the introduction of the supercharger in 2003 they were forced to use mineral oil. I have an adobe pdf file from amsoil about oil and superchargers but i dont know how to post it on here, anyone know how?
