My son was zipping along at about 60MPH when the GTX 2000 suddenly stopped and throw him off, he's ok ( he's young). He mangaged to start it again but the selector was stuck nearer the neutral mark and the hi temp beep was on.

Anyway I got it home started it and flush it out. It seems Ok, it only has 17 hours on it. Looking at the ski tonight the selector was not lined up because of the 4 bolts in the pump support area only one was holding it on, 2 more bolts had snapped off at the head and 1 was lost. I'll replace them but what has caused this to happen and will the sudden stop have damaged the engine?

Another thing I found was the small red and black plastic pump on top of the expansion tank had melted off.

A sudden stop won't hurt the engine... but over heating will.

There have been other people who have complained about loose bolts. Best thing to do, is to just go over everything, and make sure everything is tight.

Can you post a pic of the melted part? I'm pretty sure you are talking about the regulator on the muffler, but I want to be sure.
