Ok, I can't find anything on Search for this, so I just need a quick answer, quick flaming, and I'll disappear back to the woodwork.

I'm putting my engine back together after having the cylinders re-sleeved. The crankshaft and bearings and all that are now, as when top end pulled off, dry. I did notice there's an oil line going to the body of the lower part of the engine, is there supposed to be oil in the crankshaft area? Or is it supposed to be dry? I suspect my oil injection is not working being that the engine fried last year and it had already been oversized to the point of needing a re-sleeve. Thank you for the help!

There's a feed and return line to the crankcase. They are needed.

You say you suspect your engine fried due to the pump not working. Have you confirmed this? Are you still using the pump or did you go to premix?

I don't know for sure, and I will be running premix when the engine gets re-assembled. Right now the pistons are back on the connecting rods but I haven't put the cylinders back on just in the event I need to fill it with oil first.

I'm planning on leaving everything hooked up just not relying on oil injection for fuel mixing. My main question is do I actually dump oil in the crankcase or is it supposed to be dry or is that something the oil injection should be doing?
