Yo Boggs, both of those boats are what I would consider 'average' priced deals. I would take either one ONLY if I was 100% positive there was no mechanical or electrical issues with them. If you end up having to put any money into them, you are 'upside down' in regards to their street value.
If you are not in a hurry, hold out for a better deal. Or offer them a lower price, if they say no you can always say...okay, but call me when you change your mind. These are tough economic times, I can't imagine the boat business is booming in Michigan right now.
I got my Sportster a few months ago for $1700 with galvanized trailer in a non-working state. Spent another $1900 so I'm into it for $3600 but now I KNOW that everything is correct and working properly.
