Still Bogging down at WOT.

1st off thanks for all the great help that I've gotten with this issue!


Ok, I've replaced the grey fuel lines:hurray:, cleaned out the selector valve, and cleaned out the water separator and carb fuel filter. After going for a lake test this afternoon the ski is still bogging down and shutting off when you go WOT, once you finally get to WOT if you pull the choke out it will cause the ski to bog down which I think means I'm not having a "Going to Lean Issue Correct." Also once you come down out of WOT you can take back off again with out bogging but if it sits and idles and then you go WOT it will bog out and die. So my next step, I think, is going to re-build the carb, is there something else that I should try first or something that I'm over looking? Also where is the best place to order a carb kit from? No one locally seams to have one.

It could be time for a carb rebuild kit. Search online stores and you can find many places that sell the kits. PM me if you need more info.

Fuel selector

Just curious, have you actually taken the fuel selector valve apart and have you run your ski on reserve yet? I found that the rubber insert in the valve of my 97 gsx was falling apart. It would bog very badly in the run position and not so bad in the reserve position. I could barely get air through it on the reserve side and couldn't get air through at all on the run side. So, before the new valve arrives, I removed the insert and eliminated the issue with the clogged valve all together. This solved the bogging issue with my ski. This allows the valve to pull fuel from both fuel lines in the tank but it will get you going until your new valve arrives. Hope this helps you out.

I took the selector valve apart and cleaned it. The rubber insert was removed as well. It look ok but seemed kinda streched out. It's worth a try removing it and testing. Thanks for the suggestion.

Replace the selector valve with a new one $30. Probably should replace the needle/seat in the carbs, as well. Use the old spring from the old needle and seat to keep the correct pop off pressure.
