steering problem

Please give us some more details. Which direction is it turning? Are the bars locked? Same issues in reverse?

When turn steering right it moves freely but nothing happens. When turn steering left it moves and turns but stays in turn position. Same in reverse

Have you inspected the steering cable? This sounds to me like the place to start. Make sure there is no corrosion and that things are not binding. Honestly a shop manual in a time like this is a great resouce, which we have in our premium section.

Let us know what you find with the steering cable and we'll go from there.

The cable may have broken internally. Disconnect thru-bolt from nozzel, twist & pull.
If it comes out some, you need to replace it. Lift the seat, At inside rear inside of the compartment where the cable goes threw the hull, loosen the nut, then go outside and pull the stainless retainer back and the split nuts should drop in your hand. May need to remove the cable hime connector to get it pulled into the compartment. Other end disconnects under steering column. :)
