I needed to replace a frozen/corroded steering cable on a 96 Challenger I'd restored. Seasdoo parts list the OEM replacement cable as "obsolete" and not available. However, there is a work around solution.
The steering cable for a 2005-2009 Speedster is almost an exact replacement. To fit this cable, it is necessary to cut another 1.5"-2.0" of 5/16 x 24 thread on the rod that attaches to the Teleflex steering movable arm to allow proper cable throw adjustment. Refit the hardware salvaged from the old cable.
Hint: since the threaded connector is stainess steel, use a high quality die to cut the 2" thread extension. Liberally lub die cutter with cutting oil.
