Starting SeaDoo Boat Out Of Water

I am new to boating and was wanting to test run my boat before taking it to the lake. Can I start the engine while the boat is out of the water? I know you can do this with prop engines but was unsure with a jet propulsion motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated from you guys.

Welcome to the seadoo forum Johnny. Yes, you can start you seadoo out of the water. If you want you can start it up and shut it down to be sure it fires up, Or put it on the hose and run it for like no longer 30 seconds. You model has the inter looping system in it that will get hot quick as it cools the engine from the thermal plates on the bottom of the boat. I would read you manual if I was you. I own a 2008 speedster and it is the same thing. I only run mine like 15-30 seconds to clean out the exhaust after a run in the salt water, on the hose. Thank you Karl,

I hooked the hose to boat this evening and cranked it twice and ran it for about 30 seconds each time. Everything started up fine as I had hoped. Thank you again for your reply.
