Ok so I have a 2005 Challenger 180. It randomly starts. We can start and stop it 50 times in a day and the next time we goto start it, it sounds like it wants to start but won't fire. I have had it in the shop 3 different times and they have fixed multiple things they thought was the problem. They actually started and stopped it 72 times without fail. However, the boat is never in fail mode when we pull it out of the water so we can't have it put on the computer to catch a code. Any suggestions??????

I have a 2005 sportster with the same engine as yours. Experiencing the same issue. Sure hope we can get some help on this.

We have tried everything!! I just recently had a guy tell me to check the throttle cable?? He said that if there is any play in the cable when you are trying to start it, it won't fire. He said that if the throttle is open the slightest bit then the boat will assume it's in drown mode. Not sure if this is it or not that's why i'm looking for other answers. We have had several different things told to us that all make sense but it still hasn't fixed it???
