Starters ?????

OK - my starter for my 97 xp 787 engine is bad.
ARE THEIR ANY GOOD AFTERMARKET STARTERS??
If so, what is the brand name?

OR, should I spend the money and rebuild the one I have (needs commutator)
with OEM factory stuff???

Right now... there isn't an aftermarket starter that I would recommend. They are all crap. Back in the day, Gorkey made GREAT starters, and most of them were better than OEM.

If your Comm is beyond repair... then I would buy a used OEM starter from eaby, from a seller with a high positive feedback. (better than 99.5%)

I have bought 2 used OEM starters fron 2 different places (ebay). BOTH were JUNK!
The windings in the commutator from mine are burned.
WHERE should I purchase a NEW starter or NEW commutator that will stand behind the product???

I've never had a problem with SBT Starters... We have them on 3 different skis....
