Starter Removal

If anyone has any tips on how to remove a starter on the 717 Rotax engine it’d be greatly appreciated. I’ve searched all of the internet and can’t seem to find anything. I don’t know if the model matters but it’s a 1996 SPX. Thanks guys! Also do y’all recommend replacing starter or rebuilding?

Rebuild your starter the aftermarket ones are junk.

The starter is under the pipe so if you can’t get to it with extensions then you will have to pull the pipe.

It’s also a good time to check pipe bushings because if they are bad you’ll break the manifold to pipe bolts.
