i have a 1988 bombadeir with a 2 stroke the starter does`nt engage just spins but when i took it off the motor and reversed the poles to the battery the starter bendix engages only when you touch the neg - side of the battery to the pos+ side of the starter post and the pos+ side to ground? is that normal?
