Hi guy,

I'm trying to source a starter motor for a 1997 Speedster model 5894, with engines 717x.

Do you have any part numbers for the starter motor? Is it the same motor used in an XP757?

Thanks for anyhelp.

Paul

Just get the one that is in it rebuilt. Costs around $50. I have found that starters new from Seadoo cost a fortune. Don't buy one off Ebay I did and found out the hard way that they are junk. It died after trying to turn the motor over twice.

The problem with rebuilt starters is that they can last 5 years, 5 months, 5 weeks, 5 days, or 5 minutes. Yes, OEM starters cost more but you can pretty well depend on it being good for many years to come.

I tried the rebuilt starter route to save my customers money but now I only offer brand new OEM starters for reliability. My customers don't like being stranded out in the water due to a faulty starter. And I don't care for the prospect of eating the labor on replacing the POS rebuilt with a new OEM.
