okay i got 2 96 xps, finally got them both running great and now gunna probally part with one, might sell it to my uncle to get either a 3 seater or a more stable ski for the wife, she dont like the xp to much just because she feels like shes gunna fly off. so my question is what would be something good to look at so far ive considered the 96-97 gti and ruled out the gtx she dont likle the green at all neither do i that much, also the 717 motor i hear is a tuff little motor and will do great for her crusing. my only problem is trailer is just like 14 feet long and i will have to rig a 3 seater on there so i am also considering like a gsx or something like that will it be more stable to then the xp she dont really have anyone ride with her either just her. i love the xp its fast and fun.

Hi Brandon,

How bout a 96GTI, then we would have matching sets. No kidding the GTI is a great ski, almost keeps up with the XP a couple of MPH slower and doesn't get there as fast, a great cruising ski. You can ride it all day and not get tired.

Its also good for pulling a tube or skier, personally I find it not worth the hassle.

ya prob will not be pulling a tube or anything, she just likes to cruse, i have been looking at 96 and 97 gti, but what sucks about it is i am not sure if one will fit on my trailer being there almost 10 feet long

I prefer the 96GTI because its the older style hull, it's similar to the XP hull only longer, it kinda skims the top of the water, while 97 and on is a deeper V hull.

The GTI is about 19" longer than the XP, I don't have a 2 place trailer, so I leave the XP at the lake for now. The bunks on the GTI trailer are 5'4" long and there is about 4-5" left over on the back. Don't know if thats any help or not. I know that you just replaced the bunks but at worst you should be able to put longer bunks on your trailer.

I'm looking for a dual trailer so I can keep both skiis at home, especially when I get the XP cosmetically restored.

ya my bunks are 6 foot long and brand new but the xp is just like 8.8 and that goes from wenches to the very back, winches wont move up no more im gunna have to get welder and plasma cutter out and do some modding, but idk yet kinda debating on gettting a 2 seater or keeping the xp
