Hi guys
Got a little spx as a no runner. Built a motor for it and went through the thing.
It has a new carbon seal, Pump liner (wear ring) and a good stock prop. Clearances are fine. And i fitted a new foam seal.
But off the bottom it cavitates till its on the plane, Then its a bullet. At any time you can squeeze the throttle and it pulls hard.
It becoming anoying as i get slammed by waves as it wont pull up the face of them unless I carry a fair bit of speed.
Shouldn't these jump out of the water from a stand still?
Is there a problem with the pump shoe/ride plate sealing to the hull?
Any other ideas please?

Couple of other things to check are the motor mounts, carbone ring and seal carrier as well as the boot. Is the impeller true? any obstructions or damage to the intake grate. Hope this helps.

Mounts? in What way? They arent broken, or do you mean alignment?
There are no obstructions and it has a scoop grate fitted.

Yes I was refering to checking to see if they were broken, If they were ic can lift and place angle on the shaft causing incorrect alignment of the carbone ring and seal carrier allowing air to be sucked through.
