sppedster nozzle vanes or trim tabs removal

would there be any detrimental effects to removing that vertical vane dead center of the jet nozzle, i broke one off when trying to loosen steering and was wondering if removing the other vane off the other motor would cause the boat to be unstable, any info on what they are for would be appreciated. maybe without these tabs the speedster might be even speedier.

That vertical vane helps control the swirl effect of the water passing out the Nozzle. I would get it re-attached by an aluminum welder so it will respond as it did before it was broken off.
