I got the carbs out of my sportster finally and rebuilt them but I am having a very hard time realligning them with one another though as far as the throttle butterflies go? I cannot find a picture that has helped but I cannot get the assembly back together. Any thoughts? Thanks

Just an FYI... if you make a post... please don't send me a PM asking the same question. BUT, you can send a PM directing me to this thread, since the answer will help everyone.

Here's the answer:

ok. This is known as synchronizing the carbs.

Start by removing the bar between the carbs, and make sure the carbs are tight on the manifold, but with the airbox off.

1) Open the throttle to full.
2) Adjust the cable so the first carb is fully open, but just off of the carb stop. (you don't want to bind the cable at full, or you may break it)
3) put the connector on the second carb, and adjust the bar as needed to hold the second carb in the full open position.
4) close the throttle, and adjust the idle with the screw on the first carb.

That's it.
