Hello! Does anyone have the schematic for the hall effect sensor and diode arrangement for the 1998 GSX Limited speed / lake temp sensor (278000849). I am attempting to repair mine and the exact layout and parts were destroyed during disassembly. I think I have the correct hall sensor ordered but I don't know the diode specs and the wiring diagram. Thank you! Erik (Seadoofus)

Why not just by a good used one from Nick, minnetonka4me.
Unless you are an electronics engineer and like the challenge.

Thanks for the reply. That may be an option if I can't find the information. There appears to be only 2 or 3 components in there so it should be a simple matter to replace and reseal them if we can just establish what they are and how they connect.:banghead:

The wiring diagram is in the manual but it will not show the internals of the part.

There is a better option. Candoo (i think) makes a GPS version that's plug and play.

I have one on my GTX. works great.

Thank you all very much for your input! I have a copy of the manual. As a last resort I may look at the GPS option. Great idea! I just like to see everything original and operational. It looks like I may need to just buy a used sensor as someone suggested but since these are so prone to failure it made more sense to me for us to replicate the simple circuit contained in there (simple soldering and schematic skills are all that would be necessary if we knew what was in there!) and allow us to perhaps make a more reliable system.

All I know is the actual one new, doesn't exist any more for the 3wire setup. (temp sensor)

the 2 wire one is like $120 and has ZERO warranty new.

the GPS one is like $100 and works well. My only suggestion would be, I wish they could pull power from the gauges using a t-connector vs. having to wire it to the battery.... if you added some wire you could run up to the gauges. OR you could have 2 of the 6 pin connectors at the e-box, to pull power there I think. Then it would be 100% no splice and no battery terminal wiring install. Even at $10 more for the wire/connectors, I'd buy it.

not to mention, the paddle wheel isn't the world's most accurate way to measure MPH.
