Speed sensor issue

Hello, I am on the last known problem of my 2000 Sea-Doo GTX restoration, and It is a speed sensor. It spins freely, but it will not read on the dash. I was looking for the wires that connect to it and could not see it, can anybody try to help me diagnose this, and or tell me where the wires are so I can check the connection.

There is a 3 wire connector toward the back of the ski just aft of the engine. The plug is on the left side facing forward. There is a test to determine if the sensor pickup is working. Voltage should vary between 5 and 8 volts. Connect to the purple wire and black wire to read the voltage drop while rotating the wheel slowly. Brown is the temperature sensor. Get a tool that will help you disassemble the plug and remove the wires then you can easily connect a volt meter to read. After you remove the wires from the plug, just plug them into the other plug. Kinda difficult to describe but hopefully this will help.

My guess is your sensor is bad. Good used ones are difficult to find. Candoo sells a GPS type that you simple plug in to that rear plug. Question is, do you really want a speedometer? :D
