Spark plug cable question

One of my spark plug cables was trimmed back awhile ago and does not reach the grounding connectors. I want to turn the engine over without the park plugs in since it has sat awhile. I poured a bit of extra Amsoil synthetic 2 stroke oil down the plug holes a week ago to have that sit and marinate.

How else can I safely start the ski without the spark plug cables attached without doing damage to the MPEM?

Just install sparkplugs in the boots and ground them to the block. But be aware of igniting fuel vapors.

You want to make sure the coils don't buildup voltage with no release. That is why you ground or install sparkplugs to let them discharge.

You can always use jumper cables clamped to the plug and the other end grounded. And see your spark then too!
And yes, don't ignite any fumes. When you crank it over, cover the spark plug holes with a towel too.
