My first purchase jet ski in May 1996 SPI was pretty good. I went though lots of stuff on it and it worked great for the week !! We had a ball !! I did notice that after the carb rebuild it did not start as easily. After some tests and such I decided to purchase the OEM diaphram. The ski used to fire right up and run great. After the carb rebuild it fired.... killed and became difficult to start. Best way was to choke on the first try and have it fire. Then on the next start attempt to hold the throttle wide open and push the start button. That worked best.

With my experience with the GTX and "spark/no spark" issues I decided to check the SPI. Low and behold... I am getting a "Spark/No Spark" and that seems to be the problem with starting. That little $7.00 spark checker sure was a good investment. :) Its been sitting in my cabinet for years. Anyway.... I will track down the reason for the intermittent spark on start up. This may well be a .... process.

So here we go again.... "son of a gun" LOL

I am pretty curious about these spark/no spark issues. Gotta be a quick and dirty method to determine the root causes. Percentage wise, what is the most common cause and begin there.
