Some CF parts on your ski

I wanted to wrap a few things on my GTX this summer. I searched around on ebay for some cf vinyl but got overwhelmed at all of the types for sale and did not want to overpay for junk so I gave up. Any recommendations on a good brand of wrap, or good supplier?

have you guys thought about hydrographics? I know places that do things like "camo dipping" or whatever, can do lots of patterns. heres a place local to me that does carbon fiber designs as well just as a reference... http://outdoorhydrographics.com/patterns-2/

A buddy of mine used 3M carbon fiber wrap on the interior of his new Z06. It looked great in the car but I dont know how well it would work on a jet ski. I've never used the stuff before so I dont know anything about it.

yea i use 3M on all my clients and products, it is waterproof so you shouldnt have issues with that! ebay has some 3M products go with that, and you will see it turns out good, like in my pictures...

I have kicked around doing this as a side business. Pretty cool stuff!

Alright, cool, that is what I will buy then. That is one thing I was concerned about, how it would hold up in the elements. Ronsse your work looks great btw!

Check these out... Was done with 3M stuff... Holds up to salt water no problem 2 seasons on...

Th 3M stuff is nice but pricey, the amount I need to do the top and under side of a single gauge hood is more then paint would run me. I have samples coming in, I was ready to order some stuff but decided on getting some samples sent in first. The 3M stuff you guys are using is it the DI-NOC or the Scotchprint? Are you using 3M 94 primer under it? Not that the GSX pod is basic, but compared to a single gauge hood it is. For a piece 48X72 it's gonna run me $115 for DI-NOC. That will do the single gauge hood both sides, rear hatch cover on my HX and a few "extras", plus the cost of the primer which is nominal, and an oops piece. I'll base it off the samples I get. My whole deal is COST, if it's less for paint, I'l paint my hood instead. I can drop it off with a buddy and he'll shoot it and have it back in a few days with minimal layout from me, but the carbon look will be awesome. The XP budget is needing the belt to be loosened.

wow, where are you buying your 3m wrap? get it off ebay.. its the cheapeast, and what i do is just thoroughly clean the surface i want to wrap with soap and degreaser, then i go ahead with the wrap, i dont use any adhesive, only on corners where i know there will be a chance of it peeling off eventually, so basically just the edges of the whole wrap, and then i lay it out with a plastic pad to take out any air bubbles and i keep going until its done!

When Layin down the cf wrap a heat gun is your best friend. It helps for adhesion an molding of shapes. I did not do it myself but helped a buddy who needed 2 extra hands!
