So how many HP is it?

I've heard several different things, but I'm really curious as to what exactly the horsepower output is on the 657X.

Well that makes me feel a little better. I was thinking it was only 70 or so. I've been told the 657x is a little anemic for the size of this boat, and to not expect a super long life comparatively. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Any guesses on how long a well maintained 657x will last in a sportster. It seemed to get up and go just fine.

Seems like it was comparable to my parents old '82 blue water with a 4 banger 18 foot I think.

This will work for a year or two, when I'll probably buy something a little bigger, and nicer.

Longevity depends on a couple of factors, but as long as it's well maintained and with alittle luck it could last almost the life of the boat. Our 96' Speedster had perfect compression when we sold it this winter, and it was still on the original 717s.

Thanks, this one was toast when I got the boat. so it has a rebuild in it now. Sounds like it should work as long as I keep the boat without trouble.
