Small amount of oil in flyweel

So the season started poorly. On my 96 GSX we blew the PTO piston. I thought is was running crappy because of the fogging oil, but it really was another issue. I suspect a clogged carb, but when I pulled the mag cover I found a small amount of oil in it. Maybe a teaspoon or so, and the cover and mag is lightly coated with it. I assume it is from the crank. Could it be my blown piston was from a bad crank seal? or is a small amount normal of oil normal or not atypical? The motor was not revving like a runaway from a vacuum leak. I will rebuild the carbs anyway. Would you think it was a carb or seal problem that killed it?

The front seal is leaking and you should not have oil in there. It could have caused the MAG piston to seize but not the PTO so that is an issue but not THE issue.

I am actually and idiot. It is the mag piston that blew. I have no idea why I said PTO. Maybe the seal caused it then. Thanks! Sorry I have been away for so long. We got a lake house and been working on it. Now I finally took them to our dock and blew one up. Life goes on.

Then I would say pretty likely. But as always clean carbs as a rule.
