hi there guys,,i have a 97 seadoo challenger,, my question is,how can i take off the sleeve on the engine block? is there a technique i have to do? how hard is it to remove and replace it?
my sleeve and piston have been scoured a bit,,i need to replace both parts..thanks for your help guys,,if you can lead me to a site of thread that shows the proper way,i will aprreciate it.

I suggest you get the service manual for your engine. It sounds like you need a top end rebuild. You will need to pull the engine out of the boat.

Unless you have access to a good machine shop you should get a top end rebuild from somebody who knows Seadoo like Fullbore or SPT or others. They can do the whole thing for around $300 - $500 depending on the engine.

You send them your cylinders and they machine them and return to you along with a full top end kit. The top end kits are returned to you with everything needed for your top end rebuild, including Your cylinders bored to the next available piston size. pistons, rings, pins, bearings, circlips, head gasket, base gasket, exhaust gaskets and any other gaskets that come in a top end gasket set for your model.

thanks...ok,,and i wanna know from your experience,,can i do the top end without taking the engine off the boat?? how easy? TY

No, you do not have to remove the engine unless the connecting rods or crankshaft are damaged. You do need some special tools to make it easier. You REALLY need to get a service manual. It will answer your questions on how to do this.
