Hi.
I have decided to buy a 180 challenger. I have a choice between on with twin pumps (2x110hp rotax) or single (1x220hp mercury)

I have never owned a waterjet boat before so I am intressted in knowing the pros and cons of single jets vs double jets. Manuvrability, fuel economy etc.

Thanks

Mike

stay away from the Merc. The parts are expensive, and hard to get. Get the boat with the twin Rotax.

I enjoy the deuce deuce, more engine control for turning and if one doesn't start hopefully the other will and you won't be stuck.

Which boat?

The 180 Challenger is only available with a single Rotax 4-Tec engine. You must be talking about a Challenger 1800, which could have a single Mercury engine or twin Rotax 110 engines.

There is not a great deal of difference in the performance of these two choices. It may depend more on your availability of parts and services in your area. The Mercury can be more expensive to repair, and from what I have seen, the reliability of the two choices is about the same.

Personally, I would prefer the twin set up.

Thanks for the prompt answers :hurray:
I have taken them to heart and also checked the service centers in Sweden and decided to go for the twin rotax.
They do service the boats, however, seadoo boats are not sold in Sweden...all are imported. The one I am going to test on thursday is A florida import so they have completely refurbished the vinyl since ut was so sunbleached and the boat is straight out of its 100 hr service.
I will pop back and maybee put in a few pics when / if I buy it....thanks :)
