Silly New Owner Question

Hi All -- We are new SeeDoo PWC owners. Recently purchased a GTI SE 130 for myself and a GTX Limited iS 260 for the hubby.
Just a silly question we are wondering about.....When we put them in the water this weekend, one of them said there was already 5 hours on it!! Shouldn't this have been disclosed by the dealer? We were under the impression that they were brand new. This seems kinda shady to me......just wondering if this is standard practice or something I should question.

Something going on there, both my skis had zero hours on the meter and if yours were purchased as new I would be contacting the dealer that sold them and find out whats going on.

5 hrs is a lot for a brand new ski which is half broken in! seems to me that someone bought it and returned it for some reason and passed it on as a new ski! speculation of course but i don't think i am far off. also could have been a demo. did you get a discount? contact the dealer.

I agree with the others, 5 hours is WAY too many for them to be selling it as a new machine. IMO, one hour would be too much. Contact the dealer and hopefully they will make it right.

And why are you calling yourself a "silly new owner"? :biggrinjester:

Sounds like you bought a "demo" ski which was ridden by a whole slew of potential buyers to test ride to see if they like it. The dealer can sell as "new" with full warranty but they have to disclose that it is a demo. Check your paper work, I'll bet it's there. I would contact the dealer and ask but I'm sure they will say that it is in the paperwork and that it is no big deal. It is a big deal and should be thousands cheaper.

There should be no time on it. Dealers are quite insistent on returns that they have less than 1 hour on it so it still reads "0". You bought a used Sea-Doo, and need to resolve this with your dealer if you didn't already receive a discount.

i almost bought a 2016 rxt with 1 hour and it had to be sold as used. 5 is not new. New is out the crate and on your trailer.

Agreed with the above. They literally uncrate the skis and give them to buyers. Should be no hours on them.
