I'm planning to take my fresh water 2004 GTX-4 to Florida. What do I need to do to make them ready for the salt water?
Thanks

Assuming everything is still stock...

After use...just a good rinse down..inside, outside and under.

Pre-saltwater there really isn't much to do but you might hose the motor down with some protective oil. Saltwater guys use "Saltaway" on their jet skis after riding, for boats we hose the motor and drivetrain off with freshwater early and often, like every day, then give it a good spray with CRC brand protective oil.

Above info is good info.

Only thing I will add is, pre-treat the engine area with the CRC as it will help to keep the salt water from sticking to it during use. I used mine 1 day and in 2 days my engine was coated with a layer of dried salt. I did not anticipate that it would happen so quickly, I did not have the proper after-ride product and felt I would have a few days to get to it. You don't...

Living in Florida, and riding in salt & brackish water (impossible to avoid) at least once a month for 7 years or so now, I am a loyal supporter of CRC 6-56, awesome stuff. (also use fluid film in some area's) If you look at my engine bay's and pumps you wouldn't know I've been anywhere near salt.

For CRC I buy a gallon and put it in a windex bottle, I use it generously but a gallon still lasts forever, I buy maybe 1 gallon a year and use it probably for 50 applications. I also have the little 9oz aerosol can for hard to reach spots, just a squirt here/there.

Where specifically are you visiting ? We can suggest some cool ride spots.
