Seized Engine 1995 SPI

I am having trouble with an engine seizing on my 1995 seadoo SPI. I bought the ski a few weeks ago and the first time I took it out the engine seized. The flywheel was locked solid and would not turn. I was able to break free the flywheel and start the ski again.

I brought the ski to a mechanic and he couldn't figure out the problem without seeing the ski seized. The ski appears to be getting plenty of oil (I actually fouled the plugs a week later from it running too rich). The engine was NOT hydrolocked. The engine has good balanced compression. I thought it was actually fine and had ridden it pretty hard a few days, but it recently seized up again putting for a long period of time around the canals. (Maybe more likely at RPMs?) It also only appears to seize after the engine is stoped (doesn't lock up while running), only if you stop the engine and go to restart it (one case actually only locked up after leaving it for awhile).

The mechanic thought if it was the bearing near the flywheel on the driveshaft there would be some flex in the shaft itself. Anyone have any idea what might be the cause or what I should take apart to try and find the problem (it is currently in a seized position). Again the flywheel is rock solid (I could probably break it free again, but want to try and trouble shoot it while locked)

you sure its there, and not the pump. Pull the pump, then see if the motor turns freely, by turning the pto (under the grey shield)
 
I got under the ski today and grabed the shaft of the impeller. I was able to get a small amount of play there, which leads me to believe its not pto coupling (again flywheel locked solid, small amount of play on the impeller shaft).

If it was the pump, would the flywheel really be 100% rock solid? I would think I would get a tiny bit of play in whatever joints are between the flywheel and the pump (please tell me if i'm wrong i really don't know for sure)

Anyone have any more suggestions on this?

Or anyone agree that if the flywheel is locked solid, but I can turn the impeller shaft the jet pump and pto bearing are ok?
