Seat repair

The other day I noticed a slight tear starting (very small) on my seat on my challenger. I don't want it to grow. Does anyone have a good product that I can put on it so it doesn't get worse. I have a repair kit and am getting ready to fix a few dings on my gelcoat, and thought maybe a touch of that would maybe work as well?? Any ideas?? Also I have never taken my seats out.....looks like it is not the easiest thing to do. Should I be taking them off periodically and cleaning under them???

This is the greatest site for keeping on top of things. I have learnt so much. And saved a ton of money!!
