-X4 seat related:
I am recovering a couple seats as winter fun projects. The rubber seal is coming up in one of the front corners on one seat, and the other seat needs a whole new rubber seal. It was rotted and I am in process of removing it, and its adhesive backing. ( Stuff is tough :cuss: )

-What adhesive would you suggest to re-adhere the seal in the front corner on the one seat? ( RTV wont be strong enough, I don't think JB weld would do well with the rubber, possibly liquid nails heavy duty? it is water resistant, 20 min. setup time....)

-What type of seal or where to purchase for the second seat needing a seal replacement? Seal seems to be more oval in shape rather than round. ( Seadoo surely wouldn't still sell the seal now would they? haha )

-Thanks,
Rob

Plenty of nos seal on eBay. Go to your local auto body supply shop, 3m makes weatherstrip adhesive.

You have to be careful ordering shit like that and tubing from the dealer, it's typically sold by the meter, so.....that could be $12.99 per meter. Now on eBay guys are doing it typically by the bag since they have no clue how Seadoo sold it. It's a win-win for the buyer.

Yep its per meter, but some of the dealers are just showing spools of it. They didn't know the length. After verifying, one order for that part number gets you 1 meter.

That part number fits ski doos, boats, can ams, lots of bombardier products.

Ill measure my seats after work.

Yeah that's a great deal. I would definitely have some left over haha. I have buddy at dealer. Going to see how much he can get it for me.

Same thing happens with the oil injection line. Last time I ordered 4' and received 4 bags of 3' each. Carb base gaskets too, ordered 2 and got 2 bags of 6.

I agree, felt bad as the dealer I buy from gives me a great discount so I told them and they said it would cost more to ship it back so keep it. Probably new parts kid not paying attention.

or 3m windshield sealant. will never move again. funny story, a buddy of mine was tired of cavitation on his Polaris and used it to seal the pump on, we had to winch the pump off and when it finally did come off, the wear ring came out of the pump was still stuck to pump shoe lol

If you heat the rubber seal self adhesive with a heat gun first you triple adhesion factor. Old cell phone window ant trick.
