last week I installed two new batteries in my 2008 215's GTX's and took them to the lake for a test run, both of them ran great for an hour until the rain came up so I loaded them on the trailer and headed home... This week "today" I took them both out and the both started up and backed off the trailer.. I parked the trailer and my two boys headed over to the beach with them to pick me up after I parked the trailer.. I walked down to the beach and could see my son was stalled out about 100 feet from shore... I rode over to him on the ski that was working and he said it was running rough and just died... I had him hop on the other one so I could give it a good look.. The thing would turn over fine , but NOT fire... I did get it going once and it started out very rough.. I laid into the throttle and it SLOWLY came up to 75% speed... I stopped to pull out the white key and put in the yellow key and the thing would not start... Turns over but no fire.... after that I put it back on the trailer and decided the boys and I would ride the other ski for the day... my question is, could this be bad gas? No lights came on.. I'm going to try and change the plugs tomorrow to see what they look like.. Is there any other things I need to check? How do I drain the gas? Can I just siphon it ? thanks for any help.

I would definitely change the plugs and start there. It is possible that one just went bad and it could be firing on only 1 or 2 cylinder. I wouldnt think that gas would do that to you. Unless you are starving it of fuel. Maybe look into the fuel pump or bad injectors. But as far as the fuel goes it should burn if it was burning, unless like I said, you clogged something with maybe sludge from the bottom of the tank. You might also have a fuel filter that isnt working well. Check the fuel just before it gets to the injectors. Or you could pull them, also pull the clips that go to the coil/plug wire so that you are not firing. Then crank it with the injectors out and see if they are spraying. But I would definitely start with the plugs and move forward. If I said something wrong I am sure someone on here can correct me, but I work on motorcycles and they are pretty much the same thing so that is where I would start if it were a bike.

people dont understand gas stars to seperate after 3 weeks
and the water lays on the bottom and gets sucked up and
you are trying your best to burn water,
drain it, fill it, use STA-BIL in it all the time and ride it,
injector cleaner once in a while is called maintenance
you can go longer but plugs once a year and dont look back

in the same boat but i did do the maintance and fuel stabil. a new ski with 9hrs on it and dealer said intercooler was fried.what? thank god for warrenty. so in 2 weeks ill get it back.

Fried?....there's no electronics to get fried.

How or what exactly was wrong with your IC? I'm assuming you took your ski to the stealership for a reason...what was the ski doing that it warranted a visit to the shop?

the engine died on me and had starting issues so i took it into the dealer and he said that the ic was broken ie fried my terminlogy. so the replacement was going to cost 1200. what i said , i only had the thing for 9 hrs and i didnt even run it it past half throttle. i then said i hope that is under warrenty and he said yes. thank god for that cause if not i would have hit him in the head with the damn sea-doo !!! i gots herculien strength oh yah. the ic was leaking or something , he told me the reason but my mind was stuck on the ic cost, and still is.

Wow...you live in florida. Freezing the lines shouldnt've been an issue....odd. A new IC to boot...hmm. Do you by chance have a strainer installed in the line to protect the ic from contamination from weeds and sand? If not...Groco makes a good one for around $100.

Cheap insurance.

Well I just got a call from the shop and am scratching my head... They said the full pump was bad and had a cracked nut on the top of the assembly.. 1, how does that big huge plastic nut get cracked up under there. 2 , can the fule pump be bad if it will run fine wide open but just wont idle ? I feel like I am getting the run around from this shop.. I'm VERY suspect about this broken nut... Im the only owner, I don't beat these things up.. Am I getting took here ? This thing sound very fishy..

well I got back from the shop and it honestly looks like a defective part.. I suppose the special nut could have cracked due to cold, but the top of the fuel pump has what looks like it had rubbed against something.. The odd thing is there was nothing there to rub... I asked them to save the part so I can get a better look later..
