I have a 2007 Speedster 150 with the 155 na motor. It starts right up when cold, idles great, no loss of power when hammering it. New plugs, new oil switch sensor.

After running it for a few hours and its off, It starts taking a few extra cranks before it starts. Thats when i know its coming... the next time i shut it off, i can crank it for days and it will not start. Get towed back to the ramp, load her up. Next day on the driveway, she starts up like nothing ever happened. No codes, no beeps, no lights. Anyone else have a clue or experienced something like this? Besides this, it runs perfectly, at a loss.

Could be a fuel pump trying to die on you. I had a car that would do that intermittently. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until it happens again to troubleshoot. I’d just go through the basics and check for spark and fuel pressure when it happens and go from there.

I have had the same issue for 3 or 4 years that has progressively gotten worse. When hot, one engine would need to be cranked multiple times to start up. Last year, it reached its peak. First crank, it starts right up. Wouldn’t start after that, until the next day. The boat never ever saw the water last year because I was getting tired of trying to figure it out and I just didn’t have the time to mess around with it. I may have it figured out this year and have to get moving on fixing it. After some digging, my issue may be either a bad stator and or crankshaft position sensor/pickup pulse coil sensor. I actually noticed yesterday one of the wires coming out of the magneto had exposed copper, so I may be onto something. I am running into issues locating these parts. The major problem with replacing these parts though is that I have to pull the motor, so I’m going to get my multimeter out and start testing them tomorrow. Test your stator and crankshaft position sensor and see if you have the same problem.
