Seadoo HX Pop-Off pressure question

I am trying to find the correct pop-off pressure for my Seadoo HX. It has the original 717 motor with everything stock from the factory. I believe it is a 1996 model. When I look at the carburetor reference chart at Sea Doo PWC Carburetor Reference I get confused. I see this:



Which is exactly the same as the 1997 HX. However, the 1995 HX, with the same BN-38I (SB) carb and 717 motor has these specifications:







First of all, how do I interpret this chart? Looks to me like the 1996 (and 1997) should be set up to pop-off at 55 psi and the 1995 model at 38 psi. Is that correct? I see the ranges are different (why?), but the most confusing part is the 55 psi setting for the 1996 model s really close to the HIGHEST pressure in the range from the manual and the 38 psi setting for the 1995 model is really close to the LOWEST setting in the range. Why? Why are these so different?



And lastly, what pop-off setting am I shooting for?

A 95 HX should be popping between 40 and 56 pounds. When I rebuilt the carbs on my 95 when I had it they popped at 50. Not sure why it says 38 psi above it. Not sure why the 96 and 97 are different. I’m guessing it is because they have different jets

Jets have nothing to do with pop-off, only the needle/seat and springs.

That page has some errors and that is one of them.

If you notice, the part numbers for the 95' carbs are different than the 96/97 carbs.

Just use a 1.2 needle and seat and 80 gram springs.

Yes, according to the chart all 3 model years have 1.2 needle and seat and 80 gram spring although the 96 and 97 list different pop offs. Also the 96 and 97 model years list larger pilot jets 1 1/2 turns out for low on 96 and 97 and 1 3/4 turns out for 95 with the smaller pilot jet. 95 list larger main jet as well. I hadn’t looked, I thought maybe the 96 and 97 used different springs but they don’t. Anyways, I trust Mikidymac
