Hi I also just joined and have same model same year. It's a blast but just started misfiring on me, not on trailer even at high rpm but in the water it starts misfiring and goes up to about half speed only. I hear the fuel hoses might have an issue depending on the fuel (and its changing compisition when they are grey colored, which they are, maybe I'll take out the carbs and clean the small intake filters in them.. There is no filter between tank and carbs.

I do not have a spare pto clutch. I have had a lot of luck locally in Quebec with Bombardier for parts but also on web in USA with Atlantic Jet Sports in New Jersey.

For parts check with @minetonka4me or his brother racerxxx.

If you have Grey Tempo Fuel Lines they MUST be replace along with other things (but let's see if you have them first).

The carbs do have plastic filters inside I them. Do NOT clean them with carb cleaner as it can melt them.

Actually it's not racerxxx it's 99spxxx. Although I do have some HX parts but they're for personal inventory. Minnetonka4me has the goods you need, but he is in Havasu right now. He has a couple of HX parts skis there.

My bad,,,

And you are absolutely correct.

Thanks for correcting my post. Guess my mind is still on vacation time.

Hi I do have grey tempo fuel lines on my HX it does say TEMpO on the lines and they are grey color. I found the fuel filter between tank and carbs, opened it up and found neither dirt nor goo inside. WOnder if this is sufficient to eliminate the grey tempo fuel lines as the main culprit in my misfiring problem. Question do I really need to take the engine out for further checking things like injection oil pump or roatry valve But maybe I should start my own thread about this...

Starting your own thread would be advised. Also at a minimum, you need to replace all the gray fuel lines, goo or not, clean the filter and disassemble the carbs and clean them. Drain the old gas. You can never assume they are clean.

Bottom line is, if you still have Grey Tempo fuel lines they MUST be replaced. When doing so, replace the filter, clean fuel selector (or replace it as they are cheap and that's better than cleaning it), clean the filters inside the carbs (not with car cleaner as it can destroy them). It is likely the carbs will need rebuilt, at a minimum they need cleaned.

Do NOTHING else until this is done.

Running a lean engine will DESTROY it.

OK sounds like good advice I did the carbs complete 2 years ago and have run only about 15 hours on the seadoo since then. If I may ask, what substitute lines could I use that are widely available should I buy this per foot and cut myself .... these do have to surstain some vacuum from the pumping action I believe. Also...cannot see how to start a new thread sorry just let me know cannto see where to click I am better with the engine than with the mouse lol Sylvain

I used automotive fuel line, I bought a 25' box and had some left over. I bought 100% stainless steel clamps from Home Depot, I think I used like 21 clamps on my HX fuel system. The hose is Thermoid 24062 1/4" X 25' cost me like $20, you'll spend more in clamps LOL. It doesn't matter what brand, just verify it is Ethanol safe if you guys even have gas with ethanol in it up north.

If you want to start a new thread you can go into the 2 stroke PWC forum and look for teh "Post a new Thread" button, or click here

OK I will go to a new thread and we do get up to 10% ethanol up in Canada too. Thanks for this advice I will change all the lines and clean the carbs before weather freezes over late November I might try the seadoo in the water again at that time but I might get smart and check as many potential pressure leaks points as I can without pulling the engine out prior to as well, I just need the kit I suppose, or I could buy a hand pump and get some blank plates with orings machined.

cheers

Thanks for the referrals guys...unfortunately these HX drives are in very short supply and are about the first things to sell.

But I would like to welcome another Aussie to the site. If there is anything else I can help you with just let me know.
