i took my seadoo out today and it started fine everytime and when i went slow it seemed fine but when i gave it full throttle or even a half throttle it would die or almost die if iu didnt let off of the throttle would go fast for about 5 seconds and then start to die is this a fuel filter problem or something else i would appreciate any help or sugestions you may have

im not sure i just recently purchased and the previous owner didnt mention anything about it service records, so yuor guess is as good as mine and as far as the origional fuel selector i have no idea/ is there a way to tell. and i know what the carbs are but what are the ravs, by the way thanks for helping

No problem!

I would pull the carbs and go through them! Clean them very well! You'll want to pay special attention to the little filters inside the carbs!

The RAVE valves are on top of the motor! You've prolly looked down there and seen two red dots on black caps and wondered what the heck are those! RAVE! The help exhaust at higher RPM relieve pressure and give you an extra boost! They get a lot of carbon build up on them! They need to be cleaned once a year for good top end performance! You can clean the fuel selector for good measure!

how easy is it to do and what do i clean them with, is there anything i need to look out for as far as fragile parts that might break or is this a job for someone who knows what they are doing, i am pretty good with working on things just dont want to get myself in more trouble or mess somthing up more, also how long do think this will take

The RAVEs are easy! I use brake cleaner and a wire brush! The carbs are a little more work, but not bad! I use carb cleaner on those! Easy stuff! A couple of hours!

ok so after looking at my motor and doing some research i realized that my motor does not have the rave valves i took apart the carbs and the looked like they had just been cleaned almost spotless so now i am back at square one and really confused on where to go from here i put it in the water again yesterday and it seemed a little better but still if i give it full throttle it will about die and then rev and then about die and then rev again back and froth but never enough to go full speed any othe r suggestions

Im having the same problem,See if it does it with the fuel selector in the reserve positiion.Mine runs great on reserve, only give me problems in the on Position.

You need to make sure you fuel and oil system is feeding without fault, the reserve setting will insure you carry the steel gas can trash to the carbs, clean or replace the lines and the basket filters inside the carbs, mark the oil tank to be sure it is drinking, start the season with premix gas and once you verify oil is drinking just gas and go.
