I have a 1997 seadoo challenger, wasnt run much last year due to constant repairs out of the water but i noticed that my oil resevoir would be empty after a few weeks of basically sitting. Then was half full in fall when i winterized it and come spring it is empty.

There is no oil in my hull and all hoses seem to be secure, any suggestions where i can look to see where it is leaking ?

It might have went down into the cylinder jugs....happened to a 95 speedster I was looking at eirlier this season. The oil slipped past 1 of the seals into the lower end. Had to pull the plugs & turn it over a bunch to start clearing it out...then I eventually fired it up & cleared out the rest.

Ok getting more oil tmmrw, will see if it blows out of plugs. Is there an easy fix to replace the seals ? or does it require taking it to the shop. Thnx

If the crank seals are seeping oil into the cylinders they need to be replaced. You could live with it till it blows smoke from the oil like a bug sprayer, and then get it repaired. You need to pull the engine and split the engine cases to repair it.

I have been having the same problem on my 98 Sporsteer 1800. Only thing is that I find oil in the hull but cant find what hose may be leaking. Had the engine rebuilt last year by Pasch Marine. Seems to be leaking ever since I got it back. Fittings seem tight. Any sugestions on what to do. Was thinking of just replacing all hoses??? Seems like an easy fix. Also trying to figure out how much tubing is required and what type to buy. I got the diameter size from shop manal but length required is not defined.

Look at your oil tank check valve...mine pushes oil up through the tube & out the valve when I have the oil fill cap too tight. I ordered a oem valve to replace it....hopefully it fixes it and stops that annoying leak.
