Hi guys,

I have decided to create this topic for everyone to follow as it is a very interesting (sad) story. To give a brief history on this case, in June 2012 the engine couldn't start I brought it to a dealer here in Toronto, Ontario Snow City ( www.snowcity.com ). They bill me 6500$ to buy a new charger clean everything, rebuild my engine, PTO, oil pumps etc. I got the sky back late September 2012 so I lost the summer season, I couldn't use it. Their warranty policy is 90 days parts and labour.

In 2013 I did not ride it a lot as I was a month in vacation away from the country. This year beginning of the season SC drive gear broke and did a lot of damages to my engine, see the pics I am still discovering and trying to understand what options I have now. After 22 hours on the new supercharger, talking to the dealer they are not very friendly or helping so far.

I still have hopes the dealer or Bombardier will do something about this case as this is not NORMAL at all, their SC gear broke brand new charger after 22 hours causing all of this damage now.
I have spent so much $$$$ at this dealer on parts and service for both my motorcycle and jet sky..I can't believe this service, I am seriously thinking to take them or Bombardier to small claim court for this. The second time when some part on the charger breaks on this sky ...

What are your thoughts on this ?

Man that's hard to read. Had a supercharger come in last week with a failed gear. Definitely does significant damage and I hope you can get it repaired by BRP, but have a feeling it's going to be hard to get them to pay.

You're going to have better luck going after the service shop then BRP. BRP will just say that you had the shop install a supercharger not designed for your engine. You have the 215 and installed the 255/260 charger in it. Either way it's going to be tough only because of the time that has passed since the service was performed after the first failure. I can tell you that in court the chances of whoever makes the decision, to understand the actual problem here is close to zero. All they will see is almost 2 years have passed since the service and it's also a toy. I hope everything works out good for you since this is very bad luck to have.

I will try my best with the dealer and see what BPR says... if not I will rebuild this myself with all of you guys help and I am thinking to buy a new 2014 Yamaha FZR or FZS as I see guys there with 200 hours never charger rebuild or anything....

Wow, amazing (and sad) what the gear pieces did to your engine.
Did anyone tells you what possible cause the gear break? Too much pressure on the SC?
Does anyone make a better and stronger gear for that?

Wish you luck and hope you can recovery the engine and get the ski running again.

Regards,
Bruno

good news guys, BRP will cover the parts, I will just have to cover the labour.

This is really amazing, I was so mad and sad without the jet sky.... Now hopefully I get it back on water faster

That's good that they are covering the parts. Sucks you have to cover the labor but at least it isn't the whole bill.

Now if it's me i'll go after the dealership for the labor since they did the first install and things fall off into ur engine and if u actually installed a supercharger meant for a 255/260 into a 215 u can sue them if they didn't warn u and have u sign waiver stating they told u it's wrong supercharger and u want it put in anyways law is ur friend lots of loop hole to get things free for the little mistake
