hi, im new to this forum, ive had a problem with my sea doo gti 2000,the problem was that there was no water coming out of the tel tail,i did all the checks and flushed the system out on the hose but the promblem still was there.
so i decided to strip the top of the engine down,to see if i could find a blockage, but no blockage was there instead i found this,a build up of salt or somthing like that under the gasket

what i did to test was i backed the ski in to the water and run it on the trailer for half hour or so,it didnt get hot,so i pulled the pipe of the drain and the flow was crap, not enough presure to send to the tell tail,so i pull the car and ski out and undone the drain bungs on the ski and loads of water came out,so i think iv found the problem, what do you think?? thanks for reading

you could have build-up of calcium from water or salt. That crap under the gasket seems to be "common" at most.

I know I cleaned my cylinders/head..etc, with myriatic acid, and that stuff, melted away, actually caused a black plume from my parts..somewhat freaked me out, washed them down, and was good as new...think i might run it thru the cooling system down the road, or at least lime away.

unless you have a "reverse osmosis"/convert to soft water, hooked to ur ski/boat...its a common thing....that I've witnessed.

congradulations !! looks like you own a salt ball .:hurray: . j/k . the premium side of this forum has great water flow charts / diagrams . its 10 bucks , its worth it guy . im not sure what the murantic acid will do with the rubber in your water and exhaust system but i do know it will clean your case like no other and the black color it leaves behind it normal . have you tried blowing thru your lines with air ? your water comes in at the wear ring so start from that and go to the front , how does it do on the water hose ? it should come pissing out of it with the hose hooked up
