Can anyone help me I need a new anchor so I don't beach my ski I have a sea Doo bag anchor which weighs 20 klg but it just doesn't hold the best anyone have any ideas I go to the beach manly with a slight current

I use this grapnel. It only weighs like 3lbs. To increase it's holding ability in rougher water I added a 4' length of bungie as a shock absorber. Works pretty well and don't add too much weight or take up too much room in the front bucket.

I use the same anchor as red2blue ^ above. Works very well for me. Held my ski for a couple hours today in a very fast current with no problems. I bought mine at west marine.

They look like a giant cork screw....bigger than what you'd chain a dog with. If its sandy...I wouldn't expect one to hold for long...conversly...I wouldn't expect you use one in rocky strata either.

Cool, try adding the length of bungie...it really helps with wave action. I have mine attached between the hook and the float...the bungie being 4' long the rope that's also attached to the hook and float is 7' or so. This allows the bungie to stretch 3' before the grapnel actually takes some shock. It works pretty good.

I have a 2010 GTX Limited iS 260 - quite heavy and found the sandbag anchor useless. I found a great PWC anchor from Cooper Anchors in AUS - only weighs 1kg and is plastic coated so it does not scratch the front storage box whe it fits in perfectly. it won a unanimous vote on a TV show here called The New Inventors. It digs into the sand and buries itself no matter which way it lands on the sand - see www.cooperanchors.com.au

I don't see the chain sliding along the shaft like I've seen other boat anchors similar in design. I wonder how well it digs into rocks and such and in deeper water?
