Hello all. I bought a 92 XP for cheap and rebuilt the pto cylinder this last winter (it was scoured and low compression). This was the first engine rebuild of any kind so mistakes were probably made. I just honed the bad cylinder, replaced the piston, rebuild the carbs, and new gaskets. Took it out a total of 3 times. 1st time it ran okay but stalled out a couple of times (the pto cylinder spark plug was dry fouled). 2nd time it ran perfectly fine after some carb adjustments. 3rd time it stranded me after it stalled going WOT (opps)and wouldn't start. The pto side spark plug looked lean. Took the head off and the pto walls scoured. In hindsight, I should have leak down tested the engine.),
checked the rv clearance (I took off the rv plate to take off the carbs), and looked at the pop off pressure. All the times I took it out, it was hard starting in the water but easy on the trailer. I plan on pulling the engine out and going over all the tests I can think, hone the cylinder, and replace piston rings since the piston looks salvagable. Let me know what I should do. The compression is 120 and 90 as of right now. I checked it after the first ride and it was 120 and 120
