Ok so I just purchased a used 96 Sea-Doo gtx. Don’t know anything about them bought it cheaper to see how much we use one before spending a bunch. I found out that it has a sbt motor in it and was told by a person to sell it the motor is junk. My question is should I be worried about it or just enjoy it for now as it’s older and not worth much?

Check compression. Sbt is not the greatest but you can still get some years out of it if you’ve got good compression and your fuel system is right. That’s the biggest key to the life of your engine.

I've seen SBT Motors last 6 months and I've I seen them last 6 years. If it's running well now properly maintained then don't worry about it enjoy the ski.
