Saltwater in engine-Proper techniques according to SeaDoo??

Ok, first post and heres the situation. I turned in my 2004 RXP to be repaired after it nearly sank when the carbon seal busted around the drive shaft.
I paid nearly $800 for the carbon seal to be fixed and the engine to be serviced after saltwater got into it.
Once i got it back the engine wasnt still running right. So i took it to another SeaDoo mechanic who tore the engine apart only to find a high amount of milky oil and alot of corrosion on the cylinders and some other places.

My question is.... Is there a standard procedure that SeaDoo mechanics are suppose to follow in treating a SeaDoo engine for saltwater damage?

The mechanics I took it to originally say they did 2 engine oil flushes, replaced spark plugs and inspected inside the cylinders where the spark plugs go for corrosion. Obviously they didnt inspect it to thoroughly with the amount of milky oil that was left in.
Please help me out with this. I'm now looking at anywhere between $4000-$9000 in damage.
If there is a proper procedure they were suppose to follow is there a place I can view it also.

A little late now, but does insurance cover any of this?

My ski's engines are only about $1,000 to rebuild, but if I went down and picked up a $15,000 one, I'd insure it for $15,000.

If the carbon ring failed and caused massive sinking and damage that was not my fault, is it covered?
 
call ins company/agent and ask, if it sunk while riding, they might cover it.. not sure if your policy covers mechanical failure.it should but depends on your policy..
