Well, I finally decided to replace my old reliable 1997 GSX 800 with a brand new 2016 RXT-X 300 in lava red/satin black. Went all out and put it on a brand new Triton LT trailer, figuring I'll have this machine another 19 years. Picked it up yesterday and haven't splashed it yet. Heard about the head bolt and coolant hose bulletin and was assured by the dealership that my machine was not one of the builds affected. I figured I'd check the hose clamps on the coolant lines tonight just in case. Low and behold, both clamps that go from the exchanger to the secondary thermostat were hand tight. I attempted to tighten them and they can't be tightened without stripping the clamp. Cheap ass clamps. This thing hasn't even seen a drop of water yet and now it has to go back to the dealer to have the clamps replaced. I'd do it myself but I'm sure they'd find a way to void my warranty. Looks like I'll be riding old faithful GSX this weekend. Frustrated....
