So I'm running out of ideas on my rxp, with the ski turned off I sit at 12.3-12.6 volts. When I start it drops down to 11.8 then back up to 12.3 or so. I've checked the 2 30amp fuses, replaced the voltage reg, with a non oem and a used oem one and still nothing. What else could it be? While riding I will get random beeps more and more often until it says low 12v.
First test check ohms across all 3 points. All came back .02ohms. Then checked for ac volts, all 3 points came back around 24 around idle and when up from there when I used throttle.
Then I checked the other end of the stator wires that the voltage reg plugs into, those read the same. I also checked the red and black wires on that came back to 12v.
Mi checked the red wire from the battery with the two little red wires ohm's to fuse holder both came back .02. Checked ohms across both 30amp fuses plugged in came back good.
I have 25ac volts going into the regulator, the red wire coming out should have 14.5v
if I use the black wire from the voltage reg then pos to charge fuse I'm getting 14v. If I use the ground from the battery to charge fuse I get 12v. Must be a bad ground from battery to engine?
