Took my buddies rxp 300 demo out other day and that thing is a beast. Compared to my 2011 gti 155 limited its like riding a zx10 ninja and my ski being a harley cruiser (my ski is really loud as i had resonator removed during a repair). My ski may sound fast but fast it is not in todays game. Thing is i much prefer the ride of my super comfy ski to the aggressive workout you get riding the rxp. Dont get me wrong, the rxp is sick, baddest thing on water and instant adrenaline rush fun but man that ski just is nowhere close to as comfy as mine and since i ride in the fl intercoastal and ocean, comfort and handling chop are paramount for me. While its fun to hit 70mph in a flash, the 55-58 mph mine does is somehow still enough for me years later, even after riding every baddass seadoo that comes along (advantage of ur buddy keeping all his demo skis at ur house lol). I like speed well enough and will def hit wot on any ski u give me but after 50mph, it all just starts feeling dangerous. I know i'm biased but for me nothing compares to my semi-slow, loud girl that i can ride all day on 87oct. The rxp is very very thirsty for that 93 so dont plan to go too far lol. I just dont see myself ever wanting to upgrade unless i'm forced to. Love to hear u guys opinions of skis u have rode and what skis are ur favs.

The RXP isn't designed to ride like any other ski. If you would have tried a RXT-X or GTX with a 300 you would have seen a huge difference.

I agree with coastie, the rxpx is designed to be a sport bike and not a cruiser. The reasons you listed are the exact reasons I just bought an rxpx 300 and I'm absolutely in love with it.

It sounds like you would be in heaven on a GTR 230 though. Same hull as your GTI and more power.

Ive ridden both and the rxtx 300 is def comfy and more of an all around badass, my prob with it is still the gas usage

The rxpx is beyond insane, with trim all the way up and in sport from a dig it comes out of the water completely and skips like 3x before staying planted...its like nothing i ever experienced but was so much fun. If i was loaded i'd def have one of those as a fun ski and something comfy as a chill/trip ski

Yeah this is my first 4 stroke and that's exactly what I wanted. I wanted something that feels more like the 2 strokes I have. I've got a speedster and 97 GTX if I want to cruise/chill and the x4's if I want to wave jump.s

Now I'm stuck trying to figure out which of the 2 stroke skis I keep around.

Yeah, I also thought about that GTR 230, as it appears to be about the best performance deal on the market, as far as SeaDoo goes. I opted instead for a previous year, though brand new RXT 260, as the discounted price was about the same as the GTR 230, when I added the features I needed to the GTR, such as reboarding ladder. I'm hoping I can keep myself in check, just enjoy myself, and not be prone to test that acceleration every time out. My only other times on skis topped out at 52mph.

Yeah, those 260s will drink gas quickly if u are on it and in sport mode. Def super fun ski though. My buddy sold his 300 rxp demo and now has my dream ski that i will be taking out for a ride soon...2017 gtx 230 limited, that ski has it all, speed when u want, all the bells and whistles and also the most comfy ride of any. Of course that comes at a 15k price but if i was gonna spend that much its the ski i'm getting
