Hello eveyone and I thank you for looking at this thread.

I just bought a 2007 model rxp 215 (not running)

when the key is in position, it has NO BEEPS.

I can crank it by shorting the starter solenoid. (tried a new solenoid, still the same)

I then tried a friends computer and key (from 2009 model) and it beeps all the time but cranks over and doesnt start!

tried for a few tims liek that, then I put 2009 dash in as well (cos not sure if they had to be all together) then it was still the same tho.

Tried a couple more times on short cranks, nothing that should have hurt anything, and now my friends computer has no beeps at all either. I put his computer, dash and key back in his ski (2009 model) and yep you guessed it, His now has the same problem as my ski.

Would this be a fried computer? or just in shit down mode etc?
if both compuetrs are fried what would have caused it?

Anyone got a computer and key (and maybe dash if they have to be together?) closest dealer is about 120 miles from me so its hard in remote area.
does anyone fix these mpems? I read about bad solder joins?

Also can I buy a scantool to suit these models? Anyone have ideas if one is better than the other?

Thanks in advance
look forward to hear from you in this matter?

Hi Rick,

On the models your working with the DASH and ECU and DESS Key all need to be married ie, programmed to work with each other. You can marry them (in vegas) with a candoo scanner, or bring your ski to the BRP dealer and have them perform the service with BUDDS.

If your friends ski worked before you began swapping parts around its quite likely that the parts got mistakenly mismatched. Its not likely that you fried anything based on you post. With the 4TEC skis, if your going to be working with the electronics you need a seadoo tool. I personally recommend the CANDOO scanner, but there are other options on the market.

With all your electronics in your ski, do you see any lights on the dash when key is inserted. Any error codes or messages come up on dash?
