We just bought a 2002 Sea Doo RXDI with 120 hours on it. The compression is good, it idles fine, and top speed is fine. However, it will bog down in the following situations:
Basically, it will stay around 4000-4300 RPMs no matter how much throttle you give it, and then if you play with the throttle it will eventually surge forward and get up to the correct RPMs. We don't notice the issue when accelerating from idle.
We changed the fuel filter, and cleaned the RAVE valves. We tested the fuel pressure with a gauge that only went up to 100 PSI, and it maxed out. The spark plugs look ok.
Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem could be? Thanks in advance!
- Right after jumping a wave
- Accelerating out of a power turn
- Giving it a lot of throttle, letting go of throttle, and giving it throttle again
