I just rebuilt my super charger on my 2005 GTX and while I was removing the exhaust to gain better access the lower bracket which holds the rubber strap for the exhaust came off due to corrosion of the rivets. My question is do I really need the rubber strap holding the exhaust to the hull or will I be ok ??

I would find a way to secure it as the weight of the exhaust could cause leaks if allowed to move about. Water passes through the exhaust. So if there is a leak you will be pumping your hull full of water.

Secure the exhaust or else you run the risk of sinking your ski.

OK what options do I have? The pop rivets are all corroded and the only option that I know of would be to drill them BUT.... not feeling comfortable doing that. but I guess I have no option

If the heads broke off of the rivets you can tap the rest of the rivets in with a small punch and just re rivet them.

I'm not sure if that will work for I think they are on a solid part of the hull. I will have to pull the exhaust out and investigate.

You could Gorilla Glue some wood blocks on either side and then run the strap over it and attach to the wood strip.
